CONCORD, Calif. (CNN/KTVU) - Some cowboys were enlisted to wrangle a wayward camel in Northern California Tuesday.
The camel escaped from its pen in the afternoon, was captured and returned.
But it escaped a second time, and that's when some cowboys were drafted for the unusual job of bringing it back home.
The lost and agitated eight-foot-tall camel towered over the cowboys from Eden Valley Ranch.
The operation was a first for the cowboys, and rescue required a lot of muscle, sweat and creativity. It took two hours, but they were finally able to coax the camel into a trailer.
One of the wranglers said the camel appeared to be uninjured during his time on the outside, just tired.
